All users who use VLC (indeed, very good media player), should be aware there is new exploit which affects VLC <= 0.8.6e. Workaround is not to open ssa subtitles from untrusted sources. You can read more here:

I downloaded a subtitle for deep impact. But it plays much ahead of the video which is streaming…how to make both synch? I use a VLC player.
